Xpats (xpats.life, and the Xpat Life mobile app) helps people explore countries for a move abroad. We collect as little as we can and sell none of it.

What we collect

Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address and name via our sign-in provider, Clerk. Signing in with Apple or Google shares only the basic profile those services provide. Browsing Xpats does not require an account.

Your preferences. Quiz answers and your country shortlist are stored on your device, and also with your account if you are signed in, so they follow you between devices.

Partner inquiries. If you submit the business inquiry form, we receive what you type and use it only to respond.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to partner services are affiliate links — if you use one, the partner may set cookies to credit Xpats a commission at no cost to you. We disclose these where they appear. Our affiliate tooling (Travelpayouts) may count clicks on partner links; it does not receive your account details.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell personal data, run third-party advertising trackers, or collect your location. Country scores are editorial content, not personalized profiling.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account (and the data attached to it) anytime from your account menu, or by emailing us. Device-stored preferences clear when you clear your browser data or delete the app.
